Cacao can brighten your spirits, lower your cholesterol, and keep your skin radiant!
Boost your mood – cacao not only tastes delicious, but it also contains more than 300 compounds, many of which have a positive effect on your brain chemistry – serotonin, phenylethylamine, endorphins and stimulants. Make those raw chocolate brownies, sit back, and relax. Even though cacao helps boost your mood, eating too much (like anything) can cause weight gain. The recommended daily amount of chocolate is an ounce to an ounce and a half a day. Always maintain a balanced diet!
Help your heart – Because cacao contains flavonoids, which help with circulation, it lowers blood pressure, reduces bad LDL cholesterol, and decreases your overall risk for heart disease. I enjoy sprinkling cacao on my yogurt and in my smoothies.
Make your skin radiant – cacao powder is full of antioxidants that help repair skin cells and neutralize harmful free radicals. Try this face mask: combine 1 tablespoon organic raw cacao powder, 1 teaspoon honey, 1 tablespoon ground oatmeal, and 2 tablespoons full-fat plain yogurt. Wash skin and gently massage the mask on your face. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Masks are best to use after a shower because steam opens up your pores, allowing the mask to work more effectively. Repeat once a week.

Curb those cravings – just smelling cacao will often satisfy that chocolate craving. The aroma of the powder may activate the same neurotransmitters in the brain that are stimulated when eating chocolate. If you still have a slight urge for chocolate grab those raw brownies
