Rejuvinating and Revitalizing Blueberry Smoothie

More healthy elimination!

- fiber to prevent constipation
- antioxidants to boost immune system
- vitamin C and Anthocyanin (antioxidant that gives the berry its blue color) to neutralize free radicals

- omega-3 to protect your bones and prevent high blood pressure
- fiber to lower cholesterol and aid in digestion
- lignans, special compounds also found in other seeds, grains, and legumes that are converted by beneficial gut flora into two hormone-like substances called enterolactone and enterodiol. These hormone-like agents demonstrate a number of protective effects against breast cancer
- reduces hot flashes (J Soc Integr Oncol. 2007 Summer;5(3):106-12.)

- potassium to help maintain a healthy blood pressure
- protease inhibitors to help eliminate bacteria in the stomach
- pectin, a soluble fiber, to ease constipation

Almond milk

1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 banana
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1/2 cup ice
1 teaspoon of wheat germ

Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Sprinkle your drink with wheat germ for an added boost!
