Naturally Dyeing Easter Eggs With Food

Easter is right around the corner, so I thought I better post on how to dye Easter eggs with food found right in your kitchen!

Ingredients:
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vinegar
Red Tea, shredded red beats, cranberries or cranberry juice (Red/Pink Color)
Blueberries or grape juice (Blue Color)
Tumeric, saffron, or chamomile tea (Yellow Color)
Spinach Leaves (Green)

Directions:
1. Boil the water, vinegar, and “Food Color Ingredient” for 15 minutes
2. Strain the dye into glass or metal containers
3. Use medal ladles to hold the eggs – let the eggs sit in the dye longer for a deeper color

*If using juice, just use it straight – don’t boil

You can mix the dyes to create different colors. Decorate with tissue paper, stickers, ribbon and glitter. For jewels, useĀ Glue-Dots to adhere, which are found in the scrapbook isle at craft stores.
